In his management Mr. Cordova has promoted the full development of the Ecuadorian mining industry, positioning the country as the new mining frontier in the region, actions that have been recognized nationally and internationally. In addition, Mr. Cordova created the legal, tax and competitive conditions to attract foreign investment and develop responsible mining. With this, the goal was to reach not only the impulse of this sector, but also, the socioeconomic development of all Ecuadorians and mainly, those who live in the zones of influence of the mining projects, through social investment of anticipated royalties.

Students must complete for the BE(Hons) (Civil Engineering) a Single Major (Plan code: CIVILX2342) or Extended Major (Plan code: CIVILY2342), #64 comprising one of the following:

    1. a major - #52, comprising
      (i) #46, being all courses from part A - compulsory; and
      (ii) #6 from the combination of part B1 and B2 electives, with a minimum of #4 from part B2 - advanced electives; and
    2. balance from electives (i) a minimum of #4 from courses on the BE(Hons) list, other than courses on the Civil Engineering part B0 list; and
      (ii) a maximum of #4 from courses on the Civil Engineering part B0 list; and
      (iii) a maximum of #4 from level one courses not on the BE(Hons) list;

      OR
    1. an extended major - #60, comprising
      (i) #46, being all courses from part A - compulsory; and
      (ii) #14 from the combination of part B1 and B2 electives, with a minimum of #8 from part B2 - advanced electives; and
    2. balance from electives

It is also includes the integration of many different aspects of human resource s such as employee citizenship behaviour ( Bolino and Turnley, 2003 ; Podsakoff et al ., 2000 ), work and career satisfaction ( Lounsbury et al ., 2008 ; Saari and Judge, 2004 ), work and job engagement ( Inceoglu and Warr, 2012 ), teamwork skills ( Burrowes et al ., 2006 ), long-term commitment ( McMahon, 2007 ), motivation to lead and motivation to follow ( Kark and van Dijk, 2007 ), involvement ( Basu et al ., 2002 ; Judy, 1998 ) and the psychological contract ( Guest, 2004 ; Rousseau, 2004 ), as well as features such as job design and total rewards ( McBain, 2007 ).
